Westminster Elite - English Pronunciation
Haptic Pronunciation uses body movement and touch to improve the quality and excellence of your English pronunciation.
Haptic Pronunciation teaches students how to produce North American English pronunciation through techniques that place the tongue and mouth in the positions necessary to make the sounds of a native speaker.
Haptic uses movement and touch to anchor the correct mouth positions in the brain. My students learn how to say correct North American sounds through movement and touch, in order to improve their accent and no longer feel embarrassed by their English speech.
I have presented the Haptic Pronunciation techniques at international conferences across Asia such as:
- SEAMEO RELC 2023 in Singapore
- SEAMEO RELC 2022 in Singapore
- Cambodia TESOL 2022 in Phnom Penh
- JALT 2020 in Tokyo
- Thai TESOL 2020 in Bangkok
- Korea TESOL 2019 in Seoul
- Thai TESOL 2019 in Bangkok
I have successfully taught Haptic Pronunciation at institutions such as Coca Cola Japan, Salesforce Tokyo, Amazon Vancouver, and Tokyo International University.
These students achieved the IELTS speaking scores needed to enter some of the top universities in the UK, Australia, and Canada, as well as scores required to attain Canadian Permanent Residency status.
I was taught the Haptic techniques as a graduate student under the tutelage of Dr. Bill Acton, PhD, Director of the MA TESOL program at Trinity Western University.
For the past 40 years he has been an expert in the field of pronunciation, and founded the Acton Haptic Pronunciation System based on research on haptic movement and touch techniques in fixing pronunciation and reducing accent.
